3 Pots of Destiny

3 Pots of Destiny Slot Review

A stepped pyramid rises out of the haze behind the reels, three fat ceramic pots sit along the top of the frame, and everything is bathed in golden-hour jungle light. That setting is doing more work here than it usually does, because 3 Pots of Destiny is really a ladder game wearing an explorer’s outfit: the pots and the temple are the appeal, and the maths underneath is a collection-and-respins build you’ve played before.

Popiplay have built this one on a 5×4 grid with 40 paylines at 97.04% RTP, with a 10,000x Grand Jackpot at the top of a four-tier prize ladder. The pots are the twist, and they’re what separate it from stablemates like 3 Lucky Nuggets and Wild Wild Duck. Whether the twist bites is the question the temple is asking.

Base Game & Features

The base game is a 5×4, 40-payline setup, and wins pay across those fixed lines in the conventional way. There’s nothing unusual about the evaluation: line up matching symbols left to right, collect, repeat. Forty lines on a four-row grid means a fairly dense board, and the artwork keeps every part of it busy.

The wild is a headdress figure that substitutes in winning combinations, with no exclusions attached. It expands and stacks across multiple positions when it lands, which is where most of the base game’s personality lives. A stacked wild covering most of a reel turns a routine spin into something with real potential, and on a 40-line board that kind of coverage touches a lot of lines at once.

The scatter is a golden pyramid icon, and unlike the pots it isn’t tied to any stated outcome. Treat it as a marker rather than a promise. Between the expanding wild, the scatter and three value-carrying pot symbols, the board gives you more to watch than a standard five-reeler, even before a bonus round shows up.

The Three Pots

The pots are the game’s signature symbols: an Extra Pot, a Double Pot and a Multi Pot, each shown with a coin value attached. They’re colour-haloed green, red and purple along the top of the frame, each above its own carved stone nameplate, so you always know which is which.

What each pot does individually isn’t detailed, so the honest description is what’s on the tin: land them and they trigger the Hold & Win feature. The names tell you the intent – one adds, one doubles, one multiplies – but the specifics are something you learn in the round itself, not before it.

The Jackpot Ladder

A four-tier jackpot ladder sits on the left panel throughout play. As multiples of your stake it reads:

• Grand – 10,000x your bet
• Major – 500x your bet
• Minor – 200x your bet
• Mini – 100x your bet

Those multiples hold at any stake, which is the useful way to read them. The Grand is the top prize and the game sells it as the ultimate treasure of the ancient world. How you actually win it isn’t spelled out, which leaves the ladder as a running tally of what’s in play rather than a target you can aim at.

The shape of the ladder is worth a glance, though. Each rung down is a smaller prize, and the gaps between them grow as you climb, so the Grand towers over everything beneath it. That’s standard architecture for a ladder game, and it means the Mini and Minor tiers are where most ladder payouts will actually land.

Autoplay and Controls

Betting is set through the Total Bet field, and higher bets scale the total win rather than changing what’s available. Autoplay comes in Basic and Advanced flavours, with rounds selectable from 10 up to unlimited:

• 10 rounds
• 25 rounds
• 50 rounds
• 100 rounds
• 250 rounds
• 500 rounds
• 750 rounds
• 1,000 rounds
• Unlimited

The Advanced settings let you layer stop conditions on top of the round count:

• On any win
• When a bonus game is won
• When a single win exceeds a sum you set
• When your balance increases by a set amount
• When your balance decreases by a set amount

It’s a full toolkit, and the balance-decrease stops in particular are worth setting before a long session on a ladder game. The button displays your remaining rounds as autoplay runs, and Stop Autospins ends it at any point. Nothing’s missing.

3 Pots of Destiny Bonus Features & Free Spins

Hold & Win

The Hold & Win feature is triggered through the Extra, Double and Multi Pots, and it’s the game’s centrepiece. The pots land with coin values attached and set the feature in motion. Beyond the trigger, the details aren’t spelled out, so the short version is the accurate one: the pots open the door, and the round is where the jackpot ladder becomes live money.

It’s also the feature the Bonus Buy menu puts first, which tells you where the game expects its audience to spend their time. The ladder runs alongside play rather than inside a separate bonus screen, so every pot that lands during the feature is feeding something you can already see ticking over on the left panel.

Free Spins

The Free Spins round is the second string, framed as venturing further into the ancient realm for greater treasures. The spin count and the round’s rules aren’t detailed up front, which puts it firmly in the land-it-and-see camp. There’s no stated retrigger rule either way.

What the round does have going for it is separation: it’s a distinct mode from Hold & Win, not a repackaged version of it. On a game built around one core feature, having a second genuine bonus mode is worth something. It also means the bonus buy gives you two genuinely different destinations rather than two doors into the same room.

Bonus Buy

A Bonus Buy option sits behind the BONUS button and provides direct access to either Hold & Win or Free Spins. That’s a two-door buy menu rather than the usual single-feature purchase, and choosing between the two rounds is a genuine decision rather than a formality.

The choice itself is the interesting part: the ladder-chasing route and the free-spinning route are different gambles, and the game doesn’t nudge you towards either.

Our Honest Verdict

Overall Rating: 7.1/10

You come to this one for the temple and stay for the ladder. Sessions are built around watching that left panel tick over while the pots do their thing, and the artwork makes the waiting pleasant in a way most Hold & Win games can’t manage – the pyramid sits in the haze behind the reels the whole time, and it never gets old.

The best thing here is that the two bonus modes are genuinely different, so a bonus buy is a real choice rather than a coin flip. The worst is that the game explains almost nothing: the pots’ effects, the free spins count and the Grand Jackpot’s win condition are all left for you to find out mid-round, which is confidence not everyone will share.

It’s a good home for Hold & Win players who like a bit of theatre and don’t need the rulebook in advance. Players who want every mechanic documented before the first spin should look elsewhere. The rest can dig in – the pots don’t give up their secrets, but the temple never stops looking good while you wait.
