Gator Hunters 2 Slot Review
A chain-link fence topped with coils of barbed wire runs right across the top of the screen, and below it a battered trailer with a broken window sits among overgrown ferns, reeds and dented oil drums. That fenced-off Florida bayou is Gator Hunters 2’s whole stage, and behind its sun-bleached B-movie artwork sits a pickier, meaner machine than the cover suggests: swamp junk pays nothing until fourteen symbols gather in one view, so the slot funnels everything towards its top tier and dares you to wait there. That’s the case for playing it or for walking past.
Nolimit City has gone back to the marsh for a second bite. We covered the first Gator Hunters in 2025, and this sequel runs even hotter: 96.05% RTP, volatility marked EXTREME, and a 6×5 grid where wins are counted by matching symbols in view rather than traced along lines. Sister titles like Duck Hunters 2 walk the same territory.
Danger here is colour-coded, and red pays best.
Base Game & Features
Play happens on six reels and five rows, and there are no paylines to trace. Wins are counted by symbol: land eight or more of the same icon anywhere in view and it pays, with the prize stepping up at ten, twelve and fourteen symbols. Matching symbols can stack and drop away in clusters, so a single spin can chain several counts.
That count system does most of the day-to-day work. Because eight matching symbols anywhere on the thirty-position grid is enough, the base game pays on partial screens rather than waiting for a full layout, and one good cluster clearing away can bring fresh symbols down into another count. Fourteen in view is where the serious money starts.
The tiers aren’t evenly spaced, either. Each step up the ladder pays more than the one before it, but the final jump, from twelve-plus to fourteen-plus, is where a cluster stops being a consolation and becomes a result. The paytable below carries the exact figures.
A gator-marked wild appears on the reels, and it isn’t alone: a triangle icon labelled BONUS and a second gator icon labelled EATER turn up alongside it. More on those below.
Symbols and Pays
Every pay is a multiple of the total bet, not a line stake, and the ladder is steep. Four character symbols, the swamp’s hunting party, pay across all four count tiers, while the five swamp-object symbols, the debris they’re picking through, only pay at fourteen or more:
- Old Man (red) leads the ladder: 60x at 14+, stepping down through 15x at 12-13, 5x at 10-11 and 2.5x at 8-9
- Woman (yellow) is next: 30x at the top, 9x at 12-13, 3x at 10-11 and 1.5x at 8-9
- Man (green) pays 25x, 7.5x, 2.5x and 1.25x across the four tiers
- Man (blue) is the last of the characters, at 20x, 6x, 2x and 1x
- Rocket pays 9x, but only at 14 or more in view
- Pot manages 8x at the same threshold
- Arm reaches 7x
- Flip Flops are worth 6x
- Can (purple) closes the list at 5x
The shape of that ladder matters more than any single row. The red Old Man towers over everything beneath him, and the object symbols drop off entirely below fourteen in view. A screen full of junk is close to worthless. A screen full of red is the whole point of the game.
The character run is tight, too. The four hunters cluster within a narrow band of each other at the top, so any two-character screen is competitive. A mixed screen of objects is not. That’s the sorting the count system imposes on every spin, and it colours how each reel stop reads.
Bets, RTP and Variants
The default return is 96.05%. The differences are fractions of a percent, but they’re real money over a long session, so it’s worth checking which version a casino has switched on before you play.
Gator Hunters 2 Bonus Symbols
Three special icons share the swamp with the hunters and the junk. The gator wild carries x2, x3 and x10 values on its icon. The triangle BONUS symbol lands on the reels in its own right. And the EATER gator rounds out the set as a distinct marker, a second gator with its own job.
What the wild’s multiplier values attach to, what landing the BONUS triangle triggers, and what the EATER actually eats are the three questions this sequel exists to answer. All three icons appear among the regular symbols rather than on dedicated rows, so a spin can carry wilds and markers alongside a paying cluster.
The wild is the one that interacts with the pay ladder directly. A clearing cluster with a wild carrying x10 in the mix is the sort of arithmetic the 6×5 grid makes possible on any given spin. The BONUS triangle doesn’t pay on its own; it lands as a marker among the symbols, waiting to be collected into whatever its threshold turns out to be.
Two gators on one reel set is a deliberate piece of design. The wild gator and the EATER gator are separate icons with separate jobs, and telling them apart on screen is part of reading a spin here: one multiplies what you’ve already won, and the other is the sequel’s new invention, whatever it turns out to do.
With volatility at EXTREME, the rhythm is exactly what you’d expect from Nolimit City at full tilt: long stretches where the swamp stays quiet, punctuated by chained clusters building through the count tiers. The first Gator Hunters committed to the same high-variance design, and this one doesn’t soften it.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
This is a patience game dressed as a swamp brawl. You sit through quiet spin after quiet spin because the count system keeps throwing you crumbs, and you keep going because one full screen of red with a x10 wild in the mix is the whole reason to be here.
The strength is the count system itself. Clusters clear and new symbols drop in behind them, so a plain spin with no wilds and no markers can still chain its way up the tiers, which is rarer than it sounds in a slot this harsh. The weakness is how sharply the ladder cuts off: below fourteen symbols the junk pays nothing, so most spins count for very little, and EXTREME volatility stretches the gaps between the ones that matter.
It’s for players who already like Nolimit City’s harsher builds and want a base game with real range, not a bonus round with a storyline. Anyone after steady small wins will find the swamp a hungry place. Wading in with eyes open, and a bankroll to match the water level, is the only sensible way to hunt here.
