Piggy Vault Bonanza Rush Express Slot Review
A wall of safe-deposit lockers, a pyramid of gold coins behind it, and four piles of gems – green, pink, purple and red – fanned around its base. Piggy Vault Bonanza Rush Express decorates its vault with exactly the colours that decide what your bonus round becomes, and that’s the smartest thing about how it’s built: the artwork isn’t decoration, it’s the game’s own instruction manual hiding in plain sight.
AreaVegas Games has built a 5×4 reel set with 20 fixed paylines around that idea, using the Rush Express collection mechanic familiar from Blazing Bonanza Rush Express and Bass Rush Express. The numbers: 96.51% RTP, medium-high volatility, a 30.01% hit rate, stakes from 0.20 to 50.00 per spin.
Base Game & Features
Wins form across 20 fixed paylines, running left to right from the first reel. Only the highest combination pays per line, and multiple line wins on a spin add together. It’s a conventional setup; the interest lives elsewhere.
The paytable is where that shows. Here’s what each symbol returns as a multiple of the line bet, which is the total bet divided by the payline cost of 20:
- Chest: 0.5x for three, 1x for four, 5x for five
- Gold Bars and Cash Stack: 0.25x for three, 0.5x for four, 2.5x for five
- Ring and Necklace: 0.25x for three, 0.5x for four, 2x for five
- A, K, Q, J and 10: 0.1x for three, 0.25x for four, 1x for five
Five Chests return 5x in line pays, which tells you plainly where the real money in this game sits: not on the paylines. The royals pay a tenth of the line bet for three-of-a-kind, so a line win involving them is pocket change rather than a result. Bank symbols are wild, substituting for everything except the Gems, Rush Express symbols, Diamond Multipliers, Gold Card and Gold Piggy, and they can form their own winning lines too.
Autoplay is available in the base game only, with configurable spin counts, a loss limit that ends the session if the balance drops by a set amount, and a win limit that stops it after any single win reaches your threshold. Quickspin resolves spins faster without influencing results, and the spacebar starts or stops a spin.
Rush Express Feature
This is the game’s centrepiece. Gold Card and Gold Piggy symbols land on reel five only. When one of them arrives on the same spin as at least one Rush Express symbol on reels one to four, the feature fires.
A Gold Card simply awards every Rush Express prize on screen. A Gold Piggy is the better draw: it collects all on-screen Rush Express prizes to the piggy perched above the reels, then pays that total out up to 10 times.
Each Rush Express symbol then runs a Piggy Parade in its own colour. It plays out as a sequence: coloured piggies step through one by one, each banking a cash prize onto the triggering symbol, until the final piggy either adds a multiplier or hands over the coloured jackpot matching the parade. Those four gem-coloured jackpots sit at the top of the screen, and this is one of two routes to them.
Pick Feature
At the end of any base game spin, Coin symbols can randomly open a Pick Feature. Match three icons and the corresponding jackpot is yours. Two restrictions apply: it can’t follow a spin that ran a Rush Express feature, and it never fires from inside free spins.
It’s a small thing, but it means a losing spin still carries a second way to pay. The jackpot ladder it feeds is the same coloured set the Piggy Parade can reach, so every jackpot in the game has two doors into it.
Piggy Vault Bonanza Rush Express Free Spins & Bonus Rounds
Landing Gem symbols can start 10 free spins; the game gives itself a chance to trigger rather than a guarantee, so a screen full of Gems doesn’t lock the bonus in. Bets and lines stay exactly as they were on the triggering spin, and retriggering isn’t possible, so 10 spins is all you get.
What changes is the frequency of the Rush Express feature, which hits more often during the round, and the upgrades. The combination of Gem colours collected on the trigger decides which of these are active:
- Green Gem: a Gold Card or Gold Piggy is guaranteed on every free spin
- Pink Gem: Diamond Multiplier symbols (2x, 3x, 5x) join reels one to four and multiply the total of all on-screen prizes whenever Rush Express triggers
- Purple Gem: every Gold Card is upgraded to a Gold Piggy, the stronger of the two collectors
- Red Gem: a second free spins array is awarded and plays out independently, with differently coloured royals
The upgrades stack, and that’s the real design idea here. A Green plus Purple trigger gives you a guaranteed Gold Piggy every spin, which is close to a Rush Express feature resolving on each one. Pink on top turns those resolutions into multiplied totals, and a 5x Diamond landing alongside a fat board of Rush Express prizes is where the round’s best-case outcomes live.
The Red Gem is the most interesting of the four. Two arrays playing independently effectively doubles the round, and because each runs its own reels, a good trigger can pay twice over. The second array’s A, K, Q, J and 10 symbols appear in red where the first array’s are green, so you always know which set of reels you’re watching. The Pick Feature stays locked out of the round entirely, so the jackpots are reachable here only through the Piggy Parade.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.7/10
Playing this is mostly watching the vault door. The reels turn, the line wins trickle, and the whole session hangs on what lands on reel five – which is exactly the appeal, because every trigger resolves into a parade of little pays that can end on a jackpot. Nobody comes here for the paytable, and the game knows it.
The Gem system is the best thing in it. Four colours that genuinely change the shape of the round, and the Red Gem’s second array means a good trigger can run two games at once. The weakness is the free spins round: you get ten spins with no retrigger, so even a strong run ends before it feels finished.
If you like collection mechanics and a bonus that never arrives the same way twice, this vault is stocked for you. If you size a game by its line wins, it isn’t. The piggies do the heavy lifting, and they do it well.
