Food and drinks from vending machines are a little unpredictable, you never know what assortments of snacks they’re gonna have and if any will take your fancy.

Picture this, you’re blinded by hunger and are on the verge of passing out, so you offload all your loose change into a vending machine to grab a quick pick-me-up that was extremely overpriced, and just as it’s about to drop your item, it gets lodged between the glass.

Hacksaw Gaming has clearly been in a similar situation before, which we’re guessing is why they’ve included an animation where the lady gives the machine a sly kick every so often.

Vending Machine Base Game and Features

Vending Machine is a 5-reel slot with 35 fixed pay lines. Winning combinations are formed when 3 or more of the same symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

The minimum bet available here is £.€0.10 per spin and the maximum bet available is £.100 per spin, with plenty of other options in between the two. Vending Machine has a theoretical RTP of 96.28% and a max win cap of 5,000x.

In terms of symbols, the highest-paying regular symbol here is the Fizzy Drink, followed by the Juice Cup, Can, and Ice Lolly. Low-paying symbols fall to Lollipops, Chew Sweet, Boiled Sweet, and Bread. Wilds substitute for all High and Low-paying symbols.

Each time a win is formed, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels, and all remaining symbols will drop down to fill the empty positions. New symbols will then drop down from above via a Cascade to fill all remaining empty positions.

Multiplier Lights

Adjacent to the reels is a row of inactive Multipliers displayed to the left. At the beginning of each base game spin, each row will be given a random Multiplier of x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x9, or x10.

Once a winning combination has formed, the Multiplier on each row that includes winning symbols will increase by +x1 for the number of winning symbols on that particular row.

If a Multiplier Booster symbol lands, it will multiply the Multiplier value on the row it landed by +x2. The Epic Multiplier Booster will multiply all row Multipliers by +x2.

Landing a Lightning Bolt symbol on any row will activate the Multiplier for that particular row. When at least 1 symbol on an activated row is part of a winning combination, the adjacent row Multiplier will be applied to the win.

If a winning combination includes symbols from more than 1 activated row, their Multiplier values will be added together and applied to the win. Landing a Blackout Skull symbol will deactivate the row Multiplier it landed on.

Vending Machine Free Spins

Landing 3 or 4 FS Scatter symbols across the reels during the base game triggers the Lo-Fi and Spin and Chill Free Spins rounds respectively.

Lo-Fi Spins

During Lo-Fi Spins, this round will begin with 3 activated rows of Multiplier Lights. Lo-Fi Spins will end when all row Multipliers have been deactivated by the Blackout Skull symbol.

Spin and Chill Bonus

Vending Machine: Our Verdict

Vending Machine turned out to be rather cosy in comparison to Hacksaw’s other slots. The sleepy suburban setting really mellows you out, but the tranquil music really sells it as a slot to unwind with. At this moment in time, we can’t think of a slot with more of a peaceful vibe. It sold itself to us on its effective design and music alone, and we’re pleased to say that the gameplay furthered our admiration for it.

Vending Machine slot is very Hacksaw at its core with multipliers and Hacksaw signature multi-bonus round, and we found it rather enjoyable and quite good even in the Base Game. Individual experiences will undoubtedly vary, but our time with it during testing left us quite satisfied.

Looking to the statistics, the potential is a little lower than others in the Hacksaw portfolio. But no stress, Vending Machine is too chill to be caught up on statistics like its maximum win, and 5,000x isn’t exactly anything to scoff at either. Vending Machine isn’t a slot you go to if you’re looking for insane volatility and gargantuan statistics, but rather a pleasant, enjoyable and peaceful experience.

Overall, Vending Machine Slot isn’t quite a beast, but it’s quite an impressive Hacksaw Slot in our eyes.
