Wild Golden Scarab Symbols

During the base game and both Free Spins rounds, whenever Wild Golden Scarab symbols land in view, they will expand if at least one of them would become part of 1 winning combination once expanded.

If there is a possibility of creating a winning combination by expanding in a certain direction (either upwards or downwards), Golden Scarab symbols will expand in that direction.

Expanded Golden Scarabs act as Wilds in every position they expand over. Golden Scarab symbols have the ability to expand either upwards or downwards, to the edge of the reel set. Golden Scarab symbols that do not expand count as one Wild, with only 1 Golden Scarab appearing on each reel at any one time.

Wild Symbol

If a Golden Scarab symbol expands over a regular Wild symbol, the Wild will activate a Multiplier between x2 and x200 that is applied to the entire expanded symbol.

If a winning combination includes more than one expanded Golden Scarab symbol with an active Multiplier, all Multiplier values will first add together and then be applied to the win.

Temple of Torment Anguish of Anubis Bonus

Temple of Torment Free Spins

Temple of Torment is another of Hacksaw Gaming’s titles to feature not one but two Free Spins rounds, known as Anguish of Anubis and Reign or Ra. More on what these do below.

Anguish of Anubis

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Anubis Scatters across the reels triggers the Anguish of Anubis Free Spins round, awarding 10, 12, and 14 Free Spins respectively.

During this round, there is a higher chance of landing Golden Scarab and regular Wilds than in the base game. Whenever a Wild lands in view during this time, it will become sticky, remaining in its position for the duration of the round.

Landing 2 or 3 Anubis Scatters during this time will award an additional +2 and +4 Free Spins respectively.

Reign of Ra

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Ra Scatters across the reels triggers the Reign of Ra Free Spins round, awarding 10, 12, and 14 Free Spins respectively.

During this round, all activated Wild Multipliers are added to a Total Win Multiplier above the reel set. Each time a Wild Multiplier is added to the Total Win Multiplier, the total Multiplier value will be activated and applied to all wins for that particular spin.

Landing 2 or 3 Ra Scatters during this time will award an additional +2 and +4 Free Spins respectively.

Temple of Torment: Our Verdict

Temple of Torment has both the beauty and brains to be everyone’s new favourite Egyptian slot of 2023. In true Hacksaw fashion, Temple of Torment is a promising game with a couple of great base game features and 2 gripping Free Spins rounds.

The Golden Scarab symbols can deliver a few decent wins here and there, but land a number of them, paired with regular Wilds that activate a Multiplier and you’re laughing. The more Golden Scarab symbols that expand in one spin, with active Multipliers, the bigger the prize pot.

Sticking to what they do best, Hacksaw Gaming has thrown in not one but two exciting Free Spins rounds for you to contend with. Both Anguish of Anubis and Reign of Ra are appealing in their own ways, but it’s Reign of Ra that seems to be more promising, which is proven in the Bonus Buy option and the difference in cost between the two.

All in all, Temple of Torment is another statement game from a provider that never disappoints, and one that shouldn’t be underestimated.
