Fish Mafia Slot Review
Fish Mafia from Just Slots reveals an offer we can’t refuse as we embark on an adventure to the ocean’s underworld – welcome to the family business!
Dive into a city beneath the waves, where heavy-handed mobster sharks, sneaky octopuses, and deep-sea hustlers rule the reels. Set in a murky, underwater 1920s town, the backdrop reveals multiple animations, including floating cars and overflowing waste, followed by the sweet sound of Jazz music that plays throughout.
As you spin the reels, you’ll come into contact with Expanding Multiplier Wilds, which cover the reels and award random Multipliers between x2 and x100. In addition, 2 or more Reels can sync together to reveal the same paytable symbols, as part of the Twin Reels Feature.
With a fixed RTP of 96.41% and a high volatility score, Fish Mafia can produce up to 10,000x in max win potential.
Of the 6 slot releases in Just Slots’ current portfolio, Shogun Skylord and Rain & Ruin are two of their best, but will Fish Mafia be able to top them? Get ready to join the family, swim with the bosses, and claim all the loot…
Base Game & Features
Fish Mafia is the latest highly volatile release from Just Slots, consisting of 5 reels, 5 rows, and 20 fixed pay lines. Paytable symbols create winning combinations when 3, 4, or 5 identical instances land on a connecting pay line, starting from reel 1.
The 3 highest-paying symbols fall to Characters, followed by sea creatures and red, blue, green, & brown poker chips. When a win is evaluated, a fixed payout between 0.1x and 25x your bet is awarded, where applicable.
Lastly, Wild symbols, with a fixed payout between 1.5x and 25x your bet, may appear on all reel positions, substituting for all symbols except Scatters. This game is also home to Twin Reels, Expanding Multiplier Wilds, and a single Free Spins mode.
Expanding Multiplier Wilds
During gameplay, each high-paying (Character) symbol may expand to fill the entire reel they appear on, revealing a random Multiplier between x2 and x100. If more than 1 Expanding Multiplier Wild is part of the same win, their values are added together and applied before the final payout.
With the next paid spin, the Expanding Multiplier Wilds currently in view will leave the reels until they are triggered again.
Twin Reels Feature
The Twin Reels Feature can be triggered randomly in the base game. Before the reels stop spinning, 2 or more reels will sync, causing them to reveal the same symbols once they stop.
Fish Mafia Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters anywhere in the base game triggers the Free Spins mode, awarding 8, 9, & 10 Free Spins, respectively.
During this mode, each spin guarantees to trigger the Twin Reels Feature. Please note that the Free Spins mode cannot be retriggered, meaning that no additional spins can be awarded. The RTP for this mode is fixed at 96.41%.
Hot Spin & Bonus Buy
Players may purchase one of the following Hot Spin & Bonus Buy functions:
- Hot Spin: Increases your chance of triggering the Free Spins mode by adding more Scatters to the reels for 4x your bet per spin (96.3%)
- Free Spins 1: Triggers the Free Spins mode with 3 Scatters & 8 Free Spins for 150x your bet (96.15%)
- Free Spins 2: Triggers the Free Spins mode with 4 Scatters & 9 Free Spins for 250x your bet (96.19%)
- Free Spins 3: Triggers the Free Spins mode with 5 Scatters & 10 Free Spins for 500x your bet (96.47%)
The maximum win potential of Fish Mafia is 10,000x your bet. If a single game session exceeds this, the current mode ends, and the player returns to the base game with the qualifying amount.
Our Honest Verdict
Just Slots’ journey so far has been an interesting one. From the skies in Shogun Skylord to the seas in Fish Mafia, we’ve seen an array of both themes and features. Some are recognisable staples, and others are more daring. Fish Mafia certainly pushes the underwater theme to new depths, literally.
We’re not simply beneath the surface, restricted by the end of a fisherman’s hook, but deep beneath the ocean in a captivating underwater world. So far, Just Slots have been on point when it comes to design. Rain & Ruin, Unholy Mystery, and Shogun Skylord stand out as notable examples, and there is more yet to come from the up-and-coming provider.
Feature-wise, Fish Mafia keeps things fairly simple and relies on two features that are average to good on their own, but potentially explosive as a combo.
What we’ve got here is twin reels, which can actually be more than 2, and Expanding Wild Symbols. Should 2 or more reels sync and an expanding Wild Symbol land, then it’ll land on all of the synced reels before expanding.
This is what makes Fish Mafia so capable, giving it its 10,000x win potential. Like we said, it’s simple, yet effective. If you’re into slots with more outlandish features, then Fish Mafia might not float your boat as much.
It’s not a bad offering, by any means, and is, in fact, quite good if you value straightforward gameplay.
All in all, another step in the right direction for Just Slots, which are quickly turning heads.
