Grand Junction Enchanted Inca Slot Review
A stepped pyramid glitters at the edge of a jungle clearing, palm fronds spilling over a reel frame of terracotta and gold. For all that ornament, this is one of the most patient games Playtech put their name to: the Chief, the poster symbol, returns just four coins for three of a kind, and the real treasure sits well out of the base game’s reach. The gold here isn’t handed over. It’s buried, and you’ll dig for it.
Grand Junction Enchanted Inca is a 5×3 reel game with 25 paylines, running at 96.45% RTP with mid to high volatility. It’s the third outing for the Grand Junction name we’ve covered, after Grand Junction Golden Guns and Grand Junction Mountain Express, and the pattern holds: a quiet base game, a free games round, and a jackpot ladder waiting above the reels.
The Reels and the Paytable
Wins form on adjacent reels from left to right across the 25 lines, with only the highest combination on each line paying and simultaneous wins on different lines added together. Line wins are multiplied by your coin value, and the total bet works out at five times that coin. It’s a traditional setup, and the game doesn’t complicate it.
The Temple wild substitutes for every symbol except the Golden Mask and the Grand Junction symbol, and it’s also the richest symbol on the reels in its own right. The Golden Mask is the scatter: it pays in any position, multiplied by the total bet rather than the coin value, and three or more of it anywhere on the reels open the free games.
The paytable, per coin value, reads as follows:
- Temple (Wild) – 3, 4 or 5 pay 20, 100 or 200
- Chief (gold figure with headdress) – 3, 4 or 5 pay 4, 20 or 100
- Priestess with Leopard – 3, 4 or 5 pay 3, 15 or 80
- Golden Vase/Mask ornament – 3, 4 or 5 pay 2, 10 or 60
- A, K, Q, J – 3, 4 or 5 pay 1, 2 or 10
- Golden Mask (Scatter) – 3, 4 or 5 anywhere pay 1, 15 or 100, multiplied by the total bet
That’s a flat paytable by modern standards. The Chief, the game’s poster symbol, returns 100 for a five-of-a-kind, while the royals barely register. Three Jacks or Queens across a line pays a single coin, which is the baseline the free games exist to escape.
What lifts the ceiling is everything sitting outside the paytable: the transforming wilds in the free games and the ladder above the reels. The presentation carries painted gloss and ornate gold throughout, and the card royals carry enough Inca detailing to belong to the scene. Win highlights pick out the paying line clearly, and Turbo mode strips out the longer animations for faster spins.
Free Games Feature
Three or more Golden Mask scatters landing simultaneously anywhere on the reels trigger the Free Games Feature. Eight free games are awarded, played automatically and at the same bet as the triggering spin. There’s no picking screen and no wheel; the round simply begins.
The mechanic that matters arrives inside the round: A, K, Q and J on reels 2, 3 and 4 may transform into the wild Temple symbol. On a 25-line grid, that’s a lot of surface area. The middle three reels are where most five-of-a-kind combinations are won or lost.
Turning those reels’ cheapest symbols into the game’s richest one changes the arithmetic of every spin in the round. A transformed reel doesn’t guarantee a wild on every row, but a run of Temples there can connect the Chief and Priestess across a dozen lines at once. It’s the only place in the game where the paytable’s top rows are realistically in play.
The round can also be extended. Any three or more Golden Mask scatters during the free games award an additional eight free games, running on the same rules as the original batch. And it’s inside this round that the Grand Junction Bonus Feature can be triggered, which is where the ladder above the reels comes into play.
The Grand Junction Bonus and the Jackpot Ladder
Above the reels sits a four-tier jackpot ladder, and it’s the reason a game with a 100-coin top payline can still aim high. The tiers, as multiples of the total bet, are:
- GRAND – up to 2,000x the total bet
- MAJOR – up to 500x the total bet
- MINOR – up to 100x the total bet
- MINI – up to 20x the total bet
Each tier’s game pays from a fixed menu of prizes. The Grand Game can award 130x, 300x, 600x or the full 2,000x of the total bet; the Major Game steps through 50x, 75x, 125x or 500x. The Minor Game runs 25x, 45x or 100x, and the Mini Game pays either 10x or 20x. In every case the prize is a multiple of the stake, so the ladder scales with what you’re betting.
Notice the shape of those menus: even the Mini Game’s floor is 10x the total bet, and every tier’s minimum prize is a meaningful win on its own. The ladder isn’t a lottery ticket at the top and pocket change at the bottom. It’s a set of stepped outcomes, each one worth having, with the Grand at 2,000x as the ceiling.
The Grand Junction Bonus Feature itself is triggered during the free games, and its logo appears alongside the scatters on the paytable. The Grand Junction symbol appears on the paytable with no pay values or rule text of its own stated. Beyond that name and that logo, the game keeps the round’s inner workings to itself, which is a familiar trait of this series.
Our Honest Verdict
Overall Rating: 7.1/10
Playing this is a long walk through a very pretty jungle with one destination in mind. The reels tick over on single-coin royal wins while the pyramid waits, and the reason to take the trip at all is the free games, where the round can genuinely pay.
The strength is that round’s arithmetic: royals turning wild across the middle three reels is worth a great deal on 25 lines, retriggers add eight games at a time, and every rung of the ladder, down to the Mini’s 10x floor, is a win you’d be glad of. The weakness is the Grand Junction Bonus itself, named, logo’d and never explained, so you’re climbing towards a prize the game won’t price for you.
It suits players who enjoy a slow build and don’t mind chasing something they can only half see. Anyone after frequent features or fast action will find this temple a quiet place to wait. For the patient, though, the gold at the top of the steps is real enough to justify the climb.
